Bicyclist Airlifted After Crash In South Jersey

A 78-year-old bicyclist from Salem County had to be airlifted after a collision with a car, authorities said.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 10:20 a.m. Sunday, March 31 on Alloway Woodstown Road in Alloway Township, New Jersey State Police said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Hyundai passenger vehicle and a bicyclist were traveling on Alloway Woodstown Road. In the area of Lakeview Drive, when the bicyclist entered the lane of travel while attempting to turn onto Lakeview Road and was struck by the Hyundai, State Police said.

As a result of the crash, the bicyclist, of Alloway, suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available.
